Leicester Students

What’s it all about?

Leicester Navigators is a society set on supporting people from all walks of life.

It is clear that the world around us is not as it should be. It can be a difficult and demanding place, full of pressures, and it’s not an easy place to be. Yet together we can challenge this reality and live a different way, offering a helping hand to those who need it, and one life at a time we can begin to change the world.

So come one…change the world around you.

Navs is a place where one is able to freely explore and question God, the bible, and the application of what we learn there to our lives. I tend to be quite introverted, so Navs particularly suits me as it is a relaxed environment where I can scrutinise my faith with people who arent judgmental or condescending. I’ve met people at Navs who have, either by word or example, changed the course of my life for the better, which is good.  The free food is also a plus!

One to one time has been a source of encouragement and support for me throughout my time at university so far. Having someone take the time to invest in you creates an environment where you can both share life together, laugh about your mistakes and grow closer to Jesus throughout the process. It not only encourages self reflection, but also equips you to go out into the world and help others by creating a replicatable framework.

Tutoring on Inner-City Estates

We have teamed up with a local charity that aims to make an impact amongst young people in some of the more deprived areas of Leicester. We currently tutor a fantastic group of kids and help them with their homework every Saturday morning. So why not come along and change the world around you? We’re currently recruiting new tutors… are you interested? .

Saturday mornings, 10-12am (contact us for more details)

Wednesdays

We’re set on supporting students from all walks of life. As a group we offer an environment where we can be ourselves and be honest with the things we are dealing with. Sometimes all we need is a friendly group of people around us to encourage us, and sometimes we want to look for answers to the questions that life throws at us. The Bible has some great things to say. Do I have purpose? If God exists who is He? How does knowing God impact my uni work, my sex-life, my creativity?

Every Wednesday of term – check our Facebook or Twitter for details.

One-to-one

As we encounter the difficulties of life ourselves, it can be a hard journey to go through alone. It can bring up all sorts of questions about life; Why do things like this happen? Does life have purpose? Is there hope of something better? Well we are here to offer you one-to-one support, and walk alongside you as you wrestle with these questions and struggles in your life. This is not counselling, just a friendly ear, who will listen and not judge you. Please contact us if you are interested in receiving support.
