Come to Slovakia! We are running two awesome summer camps for teenagers this June! The emphasis is put on unusual outdoor activities, on chatting with the students to improve their English language skills and on honest discussions, whether in small groups or individually.
Most importantly, this is a summer camp! Water games, hiking in the sun, afternoon naps outside, etc. all set in beautiful mountains with endless forrests! I know right!
The camps are run by C.S.Lewis Bilingual High School in Slovakia. Read below for more info.

Camp Leader

My time in Slovakia the past two summers have honestly been highlights of my year. It has been a real pleasure being able to be a small part of the amazing vision that is being realised at C.S. Lewis High School and has so obviously impacted the lives of some of my closest friends. Spending time with the teenagers at the camp is really just great fun, and it’s very special to be able to build genuine relationships with people who are open and really up for just having a good chat! My Slovak friends clearly just love hosting people and my visits there have been so personal in being welcomed into the community there and having great friendships with many of the other helpers. I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone, particularly if you just enjoy meeting new people and are up for having fun!

Programme Description
The Navigators’ UK-Slovakia link is special. Many of the teenagers you will meet might end up coming to Uni to the UK, joining NAVS in your town. Just like I did. The relationships you start, discussions you have are not random once-in-a-lifetime interactions, they help strengthen this Slovak-British link both ways.
This year there will be two camps run in parallel, with one UK team joining each. These so-called “Language Building” camps are organised by the C.S.Lewis Bilingual High School (link) for the sophomore students (aged ~16) to aid their (already decent) English language skills and to bond the class through various team-building games.
The camp runs for 5 days. Prior to the camp, the UK teams will spend a few days in Bratislava, where they will tour the school, meet the students and generally engage with our international NAVS community centered around the school.
A full-day comprehensive induction to Central European context and the C.S.Lewis project.
