Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Matthew 9:36-38
Welcome to the official invite to ESTP 2019! We are excited to share this week with you and seek God’s heart for what He’s doing in your context. The harvest is plentiful, full of people in desperate need, physically and spiritually. Every day as we walk around our campuses and city streets we are surrounded by those who seek to follow but are without a leader. These are Jesus’ sheep; it is His harvest field.
During ESTP, we be asking God to grow in us a heart for those in our lives and will be thinking of practical ways in which we can engage well with people. Throughout the week we will be hearing from various speakers, corporately worshipping God together, learning in seminars and contributing to reflective discussions in small groups (there will also be some fun games and community times built in). Previous ESTP attendees speak highly of how impactful this week is for their faith and increases in them a hope for their communities. Lives are changed for God’s kingdom in Leuven! Come be a part of it.
Our campuses and cities are his harvest field and Jesus prays that people might be sent out to work. Would you be the answer to Jesus’s prayer? What are you waiting for? Jesus is calling.
Deadline: 2nd July 2019
ESTP will run from Sat 3- Sat 10 August 2019, with group leaders arriving the Friday before (Fri 2 Aug).
Team Suitability: This trip is primarily aimed at those aged between 18-30.
We will be guests of the ETF (Evangelical Theology Faculty). Address: ETF, 3001 Leuven, Belgium (Website)
The accommodation in the ETF consists of student dormitories, with shared bathroom facilities. The site has WIFI, don’t worry.
The cost for the ESTP is £120.
Before and After
As this is a one week conference orientation and debrief are not requirements. There will however be an onsite orientation once you arrive to help familiarise you with the centre and the expectations for the week.
We recommend personal follow up from the ESTP with your local Navigator Rep to discuss what you learned and keep you accountable to any goals or disciplines you may have set yourself at the end of the week.
Students on the programme need only bring their authentic selves ready to hear from God. There are practical work projects on the site so you will be expected to get your hands dirty. Leaders on the programme will also need the ability to lead small group discussions and work well as part of the leadership team.
Please note that you are applying to attend the ‘European Summer Training Programme’ (ESTP) which is a ministry of the ‘Navigators Europe’.
Travel Insurance: All participants are required to have suitable travel and medical insurance to cover their participation in the programme. This must include provision for medical repatriation, trip cancellation and trip disruption (e.g. due to civil unrest or volcanic ash affecting air travel). You are responsible also for supplying accurate information as required by the insurer, and communicating details of your insurance arrangements to your team leader. In the UK insurers who offer suitable insurance include Bluefin, Salt Insurance and Banner Insurance.

“I experienced it as good and challenging, as it was quite full but with good programme (as Meetings and Workshops). I liked the Opportunity to have a lot of conversations with different people and get to know them more.”
“ESTP was a fun experience! I really enjoyed the people, the food, the worship. Altogether, it was a very encouraging week for me. There were so many different people, but it was great to learn and process with them.”
“Totally awesome! Feel so blessed to have been there:-) The atmosphere of the Navs family I really appreciate. Being together on a mission is great. To hear and learn from the stories of others is an enrichment of my vision in general and my Navs experience in particular.”
