Across the UK, more young people are open to exploring faith, searching for meaning and truth.

Yet curiosity alone isn't enough and too often there is no one to come alongside them to help discover what it means to follow Jesus. The same is true globally: many are desperate to know Jesus but those who would lead them to spiritual maturity are thin on the ground. The Navigators are equipping ordinary Christians to go and raise up a new generation of disciple-makers among their peers.

Here's what we're doing:

Richard and Gina followed God’s call in 2019 to leave established careers in Ghana and serve as Navigator missionaries in Sierra Leone, raising spiritual generations of disciple-makers among the lost. As African missionaries sent to another African nation, reflecting a growing movement of the gospel flowing into all nations.

An international grant helped them get started, facing the challenges of cross-cultural mission within Africa. Since then, they have quietly built ministries in schools, campuses and rural neighbourhoods, where young people are coming to faith, growing steadily, and beginning to help others follow Jesus.

Richard and Gina were joined by Louis and Sunita from Cameroon, and together they are investing in a two-year discipleship training programme designed to form resilient, Scripture-shaped alongsiders, ready to carry the vision forward.

We would love you to partner with us to strengthen and grow the work of Navigators like Richard and Gina, in some of the hardest-to-reach countries.

Our Connect Internship launched in 1994, since then 269 young people have given at least a year of their life serving in Navigator ministries, with many going on to full time ministry or leadership roles in the church. This September, we’ll welcome our largest internship cohort in years: young people being trained, mentored, and sent out to disciple their peers.

Ellie, one of this year’s Connect interns, has a gift for building close, meaningful relationships with young women: “Talking with students continues to be amazing. It’s a blessing beyond words to sit across from someone and to discover that God sent me here because we were meant to meet.” As Ellie has invested in others, her own walk with God has deepened too, leading her to commit to a second year with Connect.

Interns like Ellie receive £6,000 in direct support to help them start building the ministry partnerships with churches and individuals which fund all of our frontline work. But a key funding partner may not be able to continue next year. We need your support to continue providing this vital start which enables young people to commit to what is often the first step of a life time of ministry.
