Your Relational Network

Sometimes a barrier to starting our journey of being an alongsider is knowing where to start...

We all have people in our lives, but how do we know who God is inviting us to get alongside? Perhaps we feel so surrounded by people who could do with encouragement and it’s overwhelming.

One helpful tool is to draw out your relational network diagram.

Take ten minutes to write out the people you find yourself surrounded by and look over it. It could be that the Holy Spirit draws your attention to a particular person or group. Or it could be that in the coming days, as you go about your life, you’ll find yourself having a particular person on your mind, or you’ll sense a nudge to get in touch with them.

Be open to who the Lord leads you to. It might not be who you expect.

Where to next?

You may now have a person or people in mind. Ask yourself: What do you need to happen, or to trust God for, for this journey to start?
