Elissa Hodges

I am passionate about coming alongside people in their journey of discovering the truth of who God is and what He has for their lives, through being a friend and mentor in the ordinary moments of life.

I work part-time with the Student Ministry in Glasgow, and part-time with a team seeking to connect with those more marginalised in Glasgow.

More about my work

I spend most of my time connecting with young people in effort to be a steady friend throughout what can be some of the most disorienting years of life. When I was in my late teens / early twenties, I lacked the support I desired from people who could potentially help guide me. I met the Navigators in Colorado Springs in 2015, and I was instantly brought into a community of friends who believed in me and encouraged me on my journey with God and in His plans for my life, which had an unmatched impact on me. My heart is to be that friend and guide to young people in their adventure of life--to speak truth into the more challenging moments; to help see value in every person I encounter; and to generally help people grow in their walks with God and in their own maturity.

One of my favorite verses that has been the biggest driver in working in ministry and living abroad is 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." When we know that we belong, we can give ourselves to whatever we are invited by God to do. Whether it be through teaching and sharing, through connecting with people one on one and connecting them with others, through serving practically, etc., I feel a joy in participating in God's Kingdom because of all that He has done for me and the belonging He has given to me.

Becoming a partner

I want to invite you to prayerfully consider partnering with me in my work with the Navigators. There are a few ways that partnership with people like you is vital to my ministry.

The most important way to partner with me is through prayer. There are constant needs I am encountering that are beyond me, and I would highly value your time and energy in coming alongside me in prayer. If you are interested in this, you can contact me and sign up for my updates for the current things I am praying for!

Another way to parter in a vital way is financially. I am entirely self-funded so that I can spend my full time investing in the students and marginalised in Glasgow. If you feel financial partnership is something you are led to do, you can follow instructions below.

Lastly, my needs far outweigh my resources, so I'd love to invite you to share this page and my ministry with someone you think might be interested in partnering with me!

Thank you for your prayerful consideration! And please feel free to get in touch with me, about any of this! I'd love to connect.
